Mitchell and Webb reuniting for new comedy series

David Mitchell and Robert Webb are to reunite for a new Channel 4 sitcom, Back.

The comedy is written by Simon Blackwell, who regularly several episodes of Peep Show, as well as contributing to In the Loop and Veep.

The series will be centred around a pub and the dysfunctional family who run it. Mitchell plays Stephen, who inherits the pub upon the death of his father, however things quickly go awry when his foster brother, played by Webb, appears at the funeral.

Back is made by the duo's production company, That Michell & Webb company, in association with Big Talk Productions. Kenton Allen, chief executive at Big Talk expressed his joy in creating the show, suggesting that the combination of Mitchell, Webb and Blackwell represents 'a supergroup of incredibly witty individuals.'

Peep Show concluded last year after nine seasons spanning 12 years.
